Happy Friday!!!
So you bought your candle, you're so excited to light it, and you want it to last FOREVER!!! Here are a few easy steps to follow that will ensure you have a LONG relationship with your candle...
- Before you light your candle (every single time, even the first time), make sure that your wick is cut to about 1/4 of an inch. You can get a long wick trimmer from Amazon for under $10.
- When you light your candle, try to keep it lit so that it burns all the way across. This is especially important with the first burn. An easy way to figure out how long that should be, measure the width of the jar, and convert the inches into hours... if your jar is 2 inches across, you can assume that it will take about 2 hours to get a full burn.
- Try to keep your candle away from open windows when it's windy out, fans, or any strong breeze.
- When you're done enjoying your candle, don't blow it out... Instead, cover the candle with the lid that it came with, it will deplete the oxygen and go out on its own.
When I do my burn tests, I light the candles for 2-4 hours at a time, always trim the wick, and the mason jars will last about 90 hours!
Have a great weekend!!!
